Gilad Kaplanski was born in Israel in 1978.
He started playing the Cello at the age of 4.
Since 1995, winner of the AICF ( American Israel Cultural Foundation ) competitions for Scholarships.
Gilad was enlisted to th IDF ( Israel Defense Forces ) in Nov. 1996 and graduated from the Officers School in sep. 1998 after being very badly injured in Lebanon.
As a result of his service, injury and necessary post injury operations and treatments, gilad did not play the Cello through a time of 3 years.
Since his return to the Cello he participated in several Festivals as Ravinia, Chicago and Verbie, Switzerland as in different Master Classes among them with Yo Yo MA, Daniel Barenboim, Bernard Greenhouse and Janush Starker.
In 1999 and 2000 he was the First Prize winner of the Haifa Rothenberg Competition and First Prize winner in the Treizin Project.

Gilad is regularly performing with Orchestras as a soloist in Israel and abroad.
last concert in Israel performing the modern multi-culture Gulda cello concerto with the Y.P.O.
In 2006/7 Gilad completed his studiesis in the Class of Prof. Frans Helmerson in Cologne Germany.
Since than Gilad is acting as principal Cello in "Defilharmonie" Orchestra in Antwerp Belgium, under Philippe Herewege.
